❤WhatzBuzzin'?: Homemade Potato Chips❤

Cassie and I went out today for what supposed to be was a Sushi afternoon, instead we ended up going around the mall. I admit, I'm beginning to become like my husband when it comes to crowds. Especially with Cassie around. I have that fear in me that what if there will be a bomb explosion and were inside the mall. Thoughts like that scare me, so I decided to just go home where it's safer and we can do whatever we want. When we got home, I was craving for chips but of course I forgot to drop by the store. So I browsed Pinterest and thought maybe I can find something interesting to cook. Then I saw the homemade potato chips recipe. Luckily, we have all the ingredients (which is not a lot). Frankly
speaking, I always fail when it comes to frying potato chips. They always end up soggy and not crispy at all! When I read this recipe they did something different (or at least for me) and of course making sure the potatoes are thinly sliced. So I attempted to make some and guess what?! it did turn out great! Crispy this time (most of them). Now I conclude that it's probably that extra step of boiling the potatoes that made it turn out crispier. Now for the full ingredients and procedure:

Ingredients:

Russet Potatoes (depending on you on how many)
Salt and Pepper
Oil for frying
Potato Cutter/Knife/Food Processor

Procedure:

Cut the potatoes thinly using either a food processor or potato slicer. If you decide to use a knife, you need to make sure it's thinly sliced.

After cutting, boil the potato slices in a deep boiling pan for half an hour.

When done boiling, dry the potato slices on a clean piece of cloth. Make sure you separate them as much as possible to dry them off.

Deep fry the potato slices in a preheated oil (low to medium heat). You don't want to use high heat otherwise your slices will turn brown instantly. Dip potato slices and making sure they have a lot of space to fry them evenly.

When crispy, dry the potato chips on a paper towel and sprinkle salt and pepper immediately so it will be absorbed. Fry the rest of the potato slices.

Here is the picture of the cooked potato chips, or at least what's left of them. As you can see, there is a hand that's been securing it. Lol!

So there it is guys, your very own homemade potato chips. Enjoy:)
